Knife Making Experience

MAKING EXPERIENCE - ONE ON ONE INSTRUCTION - NOTE: This is NOT a forging class, It is a Stock Removal Class.

Two Day Class: $800.00

WHAT YOU WILL MAKE IN CLASS:


  • A nine inch or smaller fixed blade knife.
    • Handle will be a full tang style
    • Steel will be carbon steel
    • Handle material will be your choice of micarta or wood from current supplies


We Do Not Provide


  • Travel Expenses/Other
    • Transportation
    • Lodging
    • Meals
    • Sheath, but will provide nylon case and sheath retailers (Pops Knife Supplies)

Your Day


  • Start Promptly at 8:00am - End 5:00P Each Day
    • Saturday/Sunday
    • Break For Lunch
    • Tons of Fun, Talk, Fellowship, Discussion

Two Day Specifics

What to Expect:


  • Learn the stock removal method for shaping a  knife blank.
  • Prepare and glue up handle materials.
  • Learn to mark handle pin placement
  • Marking the blade for proper proper grinding
  • Perform the initial grind.
  • Perform  heat treat cycle for your knife's steel 


  • Temper Steel
  • Pin and epoxy handle scales to the blade
  • Shape handle materials
  • Finish of the handle materials to achieve desired look and/or feel
  • Final sharpening of your knife
